Religion in Ivory Coast
           Ivory Coast is mixed with many religions. About 25% is Muslim and about 12% is Christianity and Roman Catholicism. 63% is traditional beliefs. Most Ivorians practice local religion which are sometimes infused with elements of Christianity or Islam, or both. In the 1980's the Government estimated one-fourth of Ivory Coast was Muslim and one-eight was Christian, and mostly Roman Catholic. Also Christain missionaries arrived at the coast in the 17th century but did not win converts in large numbers until the 19th century. Religious communities generally coexist peacefully.
